His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Visits Argentina

Fourteen thousand Argentineans celebrated the 53rd birthday of His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar by lighting candles for peace. Politicians, business leaders, prisoners and common people warmed to the teachings of the Indian spiritual guru, His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar during his visit to the South American country.
His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is the founder of ‘Art of Living’ an international organisation which is the world’s largest volunteer based network today and which is active in 148 countries, attracting people of every social, economic, cultural, political, religious and ideological background. The Art of Living courses are ideal introduction to the teachings of His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The Art of Living courses consist of knowledge, simple yoga posture, pranayama, breathing technique, meditation and experiential processes,all of which allow us to unfold the full potential of our mind, body and emotions. The Art of Living courses can be practiced by anybody irrespective of nationality, religion or educational qualification. Some of the benefits of the Art of Living courses are:

During this visit to the South American country, His Holiness, in separate events addressed the Senate of Argentina, 1600 business leaders and 14000 Argentineans. He also held meetings with the Vice – President of Argentina, the Mayor of Buenos Aires and the Indian Ambassador at the embassy. He also visited one of Argentina’s 26 prisons where Art of Living has been conducting its transformational Prison Programs.
A citation was presented to His Holiness by the Vice – President of Argentina and President of the Senate Eng. Julio Cobos in honour of the exceptional work that has been done in Argentina by the Art of Living in the last 17 years. Under the guidance of His Holiness, the Art of Living has actively conducted stress – elimination programes in 50 new cities since his last visit in 2006. Education for under – privileged children, free medical camps, youth camps, youth programs and stress – elimination workshops for the under privileged are some of the other service initiatives in Argentina.
His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the Mayor of Buenos Aires, Mr. Mauricio Macri in the presence of the Ambassador of India to Argentina, Mr. Rengaraj Viswanathan whereby both parties pledged to eliminate violence from the streets and schools of the Argentinean capital.
