It is apt to mention here that according to Subba, the General Secretary, Central Committee, Darjeeling, Roshan Giri recently submitted a letter to Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram. The letter stated that on the night of the 4th of October the extremist group National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) - Ranjan Diamary Group appeared in Bhimajuli village in Sonitpur district of Assam and opened indiscriminate fire killing inhabitants of the village including eight Gorkha people, who were refusing to continue to pay money as demanded by the extremists. The GJM letter to the Union Home Minister had strongly condemned this cowardly act of the extremist group and also the Government of Assam in failing to protect the villagers. The letter demanded that the Government of India should ensure that such an incident does not recur in Assam or anywhere else.
