Conserving the Sohra Paradox

Sohra also known as Cherrapunjee receives the heaviest rainfall in the world. This is because of the geographical formation of the rocky cliffs and rain forested valleys rising from the sea level of the plains of Bangladesh to about one thousand three hundred metres thus forming the Sohra – Mawsynram plateau stretch of 30 kilometres length and three kilometres width as the crow flies. The result of rain bearing clouds from South East Asia clashing with the rising clouds from the Bay of Bengal is a natural phenomenon which gives Sohra – Mawsynram the reputation of being that area of the world which receives the heaviest rainfall.
