The seminar was a sequel to the ongoing exercise within the NCC to refine the training philosophy to make it more contemporary and relevant. The changing education system and growing pressure on students to achieve academic excellence further emphasized the need to realign the training curriculum.

Concrete and specific issues to improve the training aimed to make NCC a potent organization were discussed during the day long seminar. In the first session emphasis was given on a viable NCC training philosophy and framework for grooming NCC cadets as responsible citizens for nation building.  The session included presentations on ‘NCC: An Instrument of Youth Development for Nation Building’ and ‘Development of Core Values and Winners Edge Amongst Cadets’. The second session focused on the important aspect of ‘Training of NCC Trainers’ and an overview on NCC through decades.

Earlier during the inaugural session Lt Gen P S Bhalla, AVSM, the Director General NCC welcomed Dr. MM Pallam Raju, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence and other specialists and renowned personalities for the seminar. During his address he shared the initiatives taken towards progress on various issues related to the improved and smooth functioning of the NCC.

The Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence Dr. MM Pallam Raju during his address mentioned the immense contribution of NCC towards nation building. He emphasized on the need to teach the youth of the country basic life skills that are required in a work environment and instill discipline, routine and work ethics.
