Sohing candidate H.R. Donkupar Lyngdoh, Senior Cabinet Minister had publicly in an election rally kissed the hand of Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, which is in bad taste said Samlin Mangiang, a rival candidate of the Hills State Peoples Party of the constituency. Or is it that HRD Lyngdoh, feel so affectionate for the party symbol, that he had gone to the extent of kissing it live. Samlin, however feel that this is an act of reducing ones stature in public and also the inner spiritual aura strength of his person, which in Khasi is known as the RNGIEW. Possibly it is also a kiss of gaining favour Samlin said, if he was in the place of Donkupar Lyngdoh, he would kiss the hands of the voters, instead of raising a hand of threat, driving fear to the innocents.
