Nagaland to witness Multi cornered contest in 2018

The year 2018 will see four Northeast states going out for election. While Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya are set to take place by the end of March, Mizoram alone will take place in early November. The tenure of Meghalaya and Nagaland assembly ends on 6th and 13th March 2018 respectively hence the election for both states is expected to commence on February. 

W i t h few months to go for the Na g a l a n d polls in 2018, p o l i t i c a l parties both National and State Political Parties has started to flex muscle to win the elections which is expected to take place in February or March 2018 along with two Northeast states Meghalaya and Tripura.

Nagaland which has sixty seats is expected to see the following parties into forays for the polls, The Naga Peoples Front(NPF), Indian National Congress(INC) , Nationalist Congress Party(NCP), Janata Dal (United), Socialist Janata party(SJP), newly formed parties are Nagaland Reformation Party(NRP),Nationalist Democratic People’s Party(NDPP), United Democratic People Party(UNDP) and the National Peoples’ Party (NPP).

State government to come out with ‘Community Colleges’

The state government has decided to recognise nine “Community College” in order to help students from every nook and corner of the state to make them easy in joining colleges which will be nearest to them.

These colleges which the state government plan to recognise include Nongstoin College Nongstoin, Tirot Sing Memorial Mairang, Ri Bhoi College Nongpoh, Shangpung College Shangpung, Jaintia Eastern College Khliehriat, Ampati College Ampati, Tura College Tura, Chokpot College Chokpot, Rongjeng College, Rongjeng.

 

From among these 9 recognised colleges they will be divided among two sections namely ‘Brown Filed’ in which the government is ready to donate 2 crore for each colleges while those colleges which falls under ‘Green Filed’ the government will bear the expense of 10 crore each. All together the government will spent 50 crore for the standardised of all colleges which will soon categorised as community colleges.

Strong Lokayukta Act is necessary- Joe Marwein

 

United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate Joe Marwein has called out to the Meghalaya Government to strengthen the Lokayukta Act in order to fight against the menace of corruption in the state. 
While addressing during the gathering at Mawkhar, the UDP North Shillong youth wing lashed out at the Congress led- Government by reminding about the ongoing white ink scam and as to why such Act is important to prevent corruption.
Marwein also lashed out against BJP for its implementation ‘Demonetisation ‘and ‘GST’ as it makes more complicated to the lives of the people. In his final note Marwein promised of quality education and healthcare for the people of North Shillong and State as a whole.

PDF is not just a political party but living roots for the state survival: Auspicious L Mawphlang

The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) P.N. Syiem today officially joined Peoples Democratic front (PDF). The PDF is lighting hope to the people by bring and putting high expectation on Syiem who is the founder of this newly political party.

Party secretary Auspicious L Mawphlang said that the party aims at translating the people's aspirations into reality. It would identify and tap all resources to promote all round development in the state. According to him regional parties like the United Democratic Party (UDP) and Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) are growing old and it is time for the people to look for an alternative and the PDF can be that change. Mawphlang said the people are craving for change due to the lack of policies for the welfare of the farmers, youths, traditional institutions and blamed the ruling congress for the mess. The PDF is closely linked with the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council as 12 MDC recently joined the party. The PDF also claimed of being a party that not only trying to aims to reach out to every common citizen but also safeguard the identity and culture of the state. It feels proud to have restored the Village Administration Bill (VAB) through Syiem who gather all the Traditional head to protest against the government for trying to interfere in their working process.

 

Along with P.N. Syiem, 12 MDC were also seen sharing the stage they were Grace Mary Kharpuri MDC of Nongskhen, James Ban Basaiawmoit from Mawkhar-Pynthorumkrah, Latiplang Kharkongor of Nongthymmai, Banteidor Lyngdoh of Mawkynrew, Albinus Lyngdoh of Umroi, James Sylliang of Mawhati, Blandingstar Warjri of Mawthadraishan, Hadrian Lyngdoh of Mawkyrwat, Morningstar Mawsor of Mawthengkut, Sarita Lyngdoh of Mawlai and Victor Ranee of Jirang constituency.

NPP's Conrad Says he will Send the current Chief Minister of Meghalaya behind bars for his corrupt activities.

Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, is now subject to facing frontal attacks by the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and National People's Party (NPP) leaders. More so becoming an object of targeting practise by his political adversaries. NPP leader Conrad Sangma, has described Mukul Sangma as being the most corrupted, not as a person but as head of the state.
