NPP's Conrad Says he will Send the current Chief Minister of Meghalaya behind bars for his corrupt activities.

Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, is now subject to facing frontal attacks by the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and National People's Party (NPP) leaders. More so becoming an object of targeting practise by his political adversaries. NPP leader Conrad Sangma, has described Mukul Sangma as being the most corrupted, not as a person but as head of the state.

D.C appeal citizens to maintain cleanliness

The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District has strongly advised all citizens to follow a systematic collection, segregation, disposal, and overall management of waste to maintain the cleanliness of Shillong city from public and private amenities across the City.

 

The Commissioner wants immediate response and participation of the public to save the streets, roadways, footpaths, public transportations, parking lots, open spaces, schools, colleges, hospitals, public offices, market areas etc. Strict action will also include for any offenders. These include an arrest and a fine of Rs. 5000 will be imposed upon conviction by a Court of Law.

MLA’s salary reduced by Rs 8000/-

During the Cabinet Meeting the Meghalaya Government has decided to cut down the salaries of MLA’s by Rs 8000/-. While speaking to media person Dr. Mukul Sangma said that irrespective of timings, Government had to do what it considered good. And it is wrong to alleged everything as election gimmick.

 

The news was delivered by Parliamentary Affairs minister, MM Danggo. During the last budget session this year, the salaries of MLAs were raised to Rupees two lakh ten thousand hence with this cut the total salary will be Rupees two lakh two thousand. With the reduction of MLA’s salary it is also expected that the Government would be forced to increase the salary of Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and all the ministers.

‘Treat HIV positive people with love’- Meena Kharkongor

Meena Kharkongor the chairperson of Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, while addressing on the occasion of ‘World AIDS Day’ said that “there must be a concerted effort to look after HIV positive people with love, support, and quality treatment’.  The Chairperson of MSCPCR encouraged the people to treat the victims with respect and dignity, she also stress on awareness and support and not to stigmatize and discriminate such people.

 

Kharkongor was addressing during the celebration of ‘World AIDS Day’ at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture Research, Shillong. She also reminds the people that the Commission welcomes any coordination for this cause from Meghalaya AIDS Control Society (MACS) or any organisation.

Can you tell us something about ChangemakerXChange?

Cha n g e m a k e r X c h a n g e stands for an exchange of ideas between young people who are working on innovative solutions to social, environmental or societal problems in their immediate surroundings. At five-day exchange meetings, we are to deepen our knowledge and further develop our initiatives and business models. We are to network, enhance our own initiatives in a dialog with other participants, and start joint projects. Particularly innovative project ideas receive financial and nonmaterial support from the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The program is open to social innovators between 18 to 30 years old from Africa, Asia and Europe.
