Salma Agha Pays tribute to the Delhi gang rape victim Damini with album

Rakesh Sawant, the brother of Rakhi Sawant is coming up with the music album under the aegis of his own music company named after his mother Jaya- Jaya’s Music. Rakesh will direct the video starring Salma Agha. “I was very particular that I would record my song only in the voice of Salmaji because she is one of the few singers whose voice has a lot of feelings. I was moved when Salmaji who is a big name in Asia told me that she would not charge even a rupee for singing the songs in my album because I have decided to give away 25% of the proceeds of my album to NGOs in India which work for the betterment of not only rape victims but also ailing widows  as well as victimized women from various  walks of life.”

Rakesh, who is in talks with various NGOs all over India which work for the betterment of women survivors in distress says that he will shoot his video in Delhi on January 13 and January 14 in and around the places where the tragedy happened and the late rape victim was fighting for her life. “My album will also have five songs by Kumar Sanu and a duet by Kumar Sanu and Salma Agha and I am targeting at a digital musical release, because I want to reach out to a large section of the audience with the poignant message that we should treat our fellow human beings with compassion and respect women because without women , men are nothing.”

Salma Agha confesses that she was moved to tears even while she was recording the song at Kumar Sanu’s recording studio for Rakesh Sawant, because it reminded her of the pathos- ridden Dil Ke Armaan, her  song  in NIKAAH.”I hope this video is able to do justice to the rape victim Damini and succeeds in driving home a message worldwide so that this kind of an incident does not take place again, whether in India or abroad. It is only her parents who can understand what they are missing today”.
