Was not this kickback an intelligence failure like that of Bofors? How was it that Indian sleuths had no information about it? Do sleuths sleep and draw salary for that? Does any other government pay money to its sleuths to sleep? Sleuths, answer it yourself please!!! Since Indian neighbours are China and Pakistan, sleuths better not sleep.

Had they remained awake, China could not have invaded in 1962, Pakistani terrorists attacked Mumbai in 2008 of Islamic militants attacked Indian Parliament. Do we remember the 1994 ISRO spy-sex-political scandal or the Samba Military Spy Scandal of 1978?

Skin of Hindustani voters no more remains thin or sensitive to scams, as they happen frequently. However, “Ghotalas” in the Defence Ministry, ISRO and uranium are making “thick-skinned Indians” ask — why Kumbhakarnas in sleuthing?

KUMBHAKARNAS PLEASE WAKE UP………

Kumbhakarnas of our espionage system, please wake up!!! The helicopter scandal is your wake-up call. Why have you failed to know  “secret deals” when nothing ever escapes the eyes and ears of Pakistan’s ISI, Israel’s Mossad, UK’s MI6, Russia’s KGB or USA’s FBI and CIA?

Tax payer’s money cannot be wasted on Kumbhakarnas.

When the highly classified Encrypted Communication Codes (ECC) was stolen from the Scientific Analysis Group and the Institute for System Studies and Analysis in 2003, sleep-sickness of sleuths was questioned. Both establishments are under Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

The “thieves” stole 20 highly classified computers loaded with the ECC yet the Defence Ministry or the RAW did not change the codes for 9-long months allowing defence secrets to hardly remain “secret” to the external world. ECC-theft endangered India’s entire external security system as they contained encrypted codes, algorithm, vital defence data and “secure” telecommunication links of a large number of government departments. The information fell in foreign hands!!!!

Imagine a security burglary in Pentagon of USA? No! No! No! Not a chance. Can you steal something from Mossad or KGB? Impossible!! The stealer would be killed in James Bond style!!

MR. BOND, WE NEED YOU!!!!!!!

Mr. James Bond, India needs you. Our sleeping sleuths must be replaced by “Bonds”: the 007.

A large number of Indian spies have “vanished” over the years posing a serious threat to India. We don’t know if they have joined CIA, ISI or KGB. Naturally, we require super sleuths Kim Philby, Aldrich Ames, Klaus Fuchs, Donald Duart Maclean and Guy Burgess to trace them.
 
Truly, the Indian espionage needs overhauling with more teeth given to RAW for external sleuthing and the CBI for domestic-spying. Today, their powers, resources and area of operation happen to be rather restricted.

The failure of Indian sleuths to know kickbacks given for VVIP helicopters, uranium theft continuing since 1992-93, Bofors deal, ISRO scandal, “vanishing” of ECC’s encrypted documents and burglary at DRDO’s office show they are real Kumbhakarnas.
 
ESPIONAGE SYSTEM NEEDS OVER-HAULING  

Arms and uranium bazaars are burgeoning in Nepal and Bangladesh. They are hubs of Pakistan’s ISI.

Indian enclaves, “chintmahals”, have turned as ISI-”operating centers,” Islamic fundamentalists, global-gun- runners and militants, sleuths are not bothered about it. Foreign trawlers having armed persons very often intrude in Sundarbana Delta and other areas of the Bay of Bengal from Mayanmar, yet sleuths keep mum.

India today does not have any statesman but mobbed by politicians, many of whom hardly understands the dynamics of this country’s threat what to talk of global politics? How could they understand espionage system?

Therefore, the independence of RAW, CBI and IB from the political domain turns stark necessity. Besides giving them total autonomy in the lines of CIA, FBI, ISI, KGB and Mossad, they too are made to act independently. But they often turn helpless due to the strong lobby of officers of Indian Foreign Service in overseas nations.

The identities of sleuths are kept secret even within the periphery of the diplomatic missions. But once they disclose their identity that they are from the Home Ministry, the IFS officers and other staffers of Indian missions know who they really are. Can a country carry out sleuthing this way? Really, the RAW-men posted abroad needs covert identity.

Most of the RAW-sleuths abroad function in a typical-routine manner of white collard persons extracting information from daily newspapers, scribes and press releases. They hardly can lay their hands on “classified documents related to defence preparedness and economic intelligence” of other nations. Unlike ISI or CIA sleuths, they can hardly lure foreigners by bribe as their economic independence is very much limited.

But foreign sleuths spend money freely to wean away defence attaches of our diplomatic missions, spies and scientists. Unless having its independent budgetary allocations, the RAW cannot function effectively.

DANGEROUS DEFECTIONS!!!

Like Ravindra Singh, defecting to another country, may sleuths too are following suit. A RAW’s officer of 1977 batch, he vanished and within just few days of his defection, the theft of DRDO computers took place.

He is not the only one. M.S. Sehgal, N.Y. Bhaskar, B.R. Bachhar, Major R.S. Soni, Shamsher Singh Maharajkumar, Ashok Sathe and R. Wadhwa too had defected. Where, nobody knows!!!!

Who knows, Ravindra, “officially untraceable since May 14, 2004”, could have made the DRDO-theft happen or others who defected were moles the helicopter deal?
