KVIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME HELD
in order to bring about awareness among the villagers about the PMEGP scheme being implemented by the office of KVIC. Through this scheme people can set up their own enterprises so that they can become self employed, especially in today’s world where it is increasingly difficult to get government jobs and services. This scheme is also envisioned to reduce the migration of people from the rural to urban areas in search of job opportunities.
Officials from other departments and financial institutions such as the State Bank of India (SBI), Meghalaya Rural Bank (MRB), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), the Agriculture Department. Fishery Department, etc were also invited to explore the possibility of linking the PMEGP Scheme with their schemes for financial and technical guidance.
The Meghalaya State Director KVIC, Shri S.B Mane, explained about the PMEGP Scheme and went into detail about the types of activities allowed and the negative list. Sanctioned limits and the subsidy portion were also clearly mentioned while he urged the participants to come to KVIC/KVIB/DCIC and take the opportunities to avail various schemes i.e., SFURTI Cluster, Khadi institutions etc.
The programme was concluded by a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Sanjay Bose (Superintendant, S.O., KVIC, Shillong), followed by refreshments for all.
