Assistant Teacher and also joined the first batch of lady Police in the State. However, her extraordinary zeal to serve the society compelled her to initiate a small adult Education Centre and Nursery Centre in Naharlagun in 1979 and later registered and launched the Oju Welfare Association in 1988. She opened a school for orphans in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh and a Vocational Training Institute in weaving, cutting & Tailoring for destitute women. She also started a school in the low literacy pocket of Seppa in East Kameng District. She has been instrumental in forming the organization that has found a niche for itself both in and oustside the country. ‘Mummy’ as she is fondly called, was awarded with the prestigious Padmashri Award & National Tribal Award in 2012 in addition to Dr. Durga Bai Deshmukh Award 2000, NCDC Award of Co-operative Excellence for her dedicated services to the people of the State. She has also proved to be one of the pioneer entrepreneurs of the State and bagged the COSIA Entrepreneur Award in 2009. She has also been honored with many other prestigious awards and Certificates of Honor to her credits.
For her motherly devotion, sincerity and spirit of sacrifice towards the upliftment of local children, in her coveted capacity of Chairperson of OWA, which is also rendering most exceptional service towards the much needed implementation of the family planning and welfare programmes, significance of education, protection & promotion of the deep-rooted tribal culture of the region and the popularity of the charming local and traditional handicrafts, she has been seen as a unique soul, who has attained the limelight as a prominent dynamic social worker and entrepreneur. Smt. Binny Yanga is gifted with irrepressible will and an unfailing determination to organize women with a difference. The intellectual circles firmly believe that she has many more milestones to achieve in life.
