Mizoram to have its first Medical College

Mizoram will soon have its first medical college after the Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla took the required action and brought it up with the Central Government. Permission has been granted by the Central Government, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Central Government bore 90 per cent of the expenditure amounting to Rs.198 crore which has already been cleared, while the State Government will pay for the rest. The proposal will see the setting up of the Medical College at the State Referral Hospital, Falkawn, on the outskirts of Aizawl.
