Gabriel García Márquez Passes on
Few writers can be said to have written books that have changed the whole course of literature in their language. But the Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez, who has died at the age of 87 after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease achieved just that, especially thanks to his novel One Hundred Years of Solitude. Since its publication in 1967, more than 25m copies of the book have been sold in Spanish and other languages. For at least a generation the book firmly stamped Latin American literature as the domain of ‘magical realism’.
Eastern Panorama Election Survey
Would you vote for the best candidate in your area, no matter from which party they are, or would you vote for a weaker candidate in order to let the best party win in National results?
Rizu Uz Zaman: Our nation of course. Nation comes first. If the base is strong, all the related fields will be supported well.
Abid Rahman: No matter what, I’ll vote “the person” worthy for it; be he/she from a weak or a small party.
Frency Maibangsa: I think this time I would choose party over candidate. I’m not in support of any political party, but I believe that for development change is necessary.
Spondan Bora: It’s a messy game here … we have already had quite a long reign of the Congress. We have seen its pros and cons. Now experimenting with a new party this time is all we can do. For that’s the only hope left - To experiment. It no more is limited to our expectations for we are always let down. We can only hope for the better by experimenting with a new team. So I definitely would vote in National interest.
Abishek Shiv Roy: i would vote for the candidate rather than the party.
