Illegal arms pipe-line controversy

More controversies have cropped up in Garo Hills or Achikland - volatile scenario creating complexities in combating militancy. The intelligence network seems to be confused or misinformed,especially on the illegal pipeline of the supply of arms and ammunition. The Chief Minister of the state has maintained that the militancy struggle has been able to survive because of the regular supply of sophisticated arms from foreign countries,through secret routes along the 443 kilometres long international border, between Meghalaya in India and Bangladesh. Dr. Mukul Sangma has blamed the continuing flare up of the rebellion mainly to the rampant supply of arms.
