“We aim to fill the gap regarding the lack of knowledge the people from rest of India have on North East”

A – ABVP’s relationship with North East is very old. The Students Centred Individualized Learning (SCIL) project was started when ABVP was formed in different states of India along with the North East. ABVP has always considered bridging the gap with North East as its priority area and worked towards the development of North East India. Also, we aim to fill the gap regarding the lack of knowledge the people from rest of India have on North East.

Q2. What has ABVP done towards bridging the gap?

A – ABVP has worked in two ways. Firstly, ABVP conducted SCIL tour through which we took students from the North East Region to different colleges and universities and organized public programmes. These contributed towards the interaction of the students of North East with the students of rest of India. This has been going on for a while now and does have an impact. As a mass student organisation, we have raised issues and concerns of the students of Northeast India and are working towards finding a proper solution. As and when we have identified any problem related to the students of North East, ABVP has always stood up to the problem. Even during the infiltration campaign of 1982 of Assam, ABVP was there in the forefront in support of the students. ABVP supports all the students of North East no matter in which part of the country they are. We have special desk to identify the problems of the North East students and provide help and support.
