Can Cpi (M) restore Its Pride And Glory?

What is the reason for the CPI(M)’s decay in the recent past and its dwindling popularity of late, despite its regaining power at Kerala in the recent assembly elections? In West Bengal, which was supposed to be its asset earlier, the party is paling into insignificance. Only Tripura, though a tiny state is assuring CPI(M) its continued ascendancy for the last two decades, although Kerala is electing the party alternatively. However, the credit for the party’s triumphant record in Tripura is largely attributed to the honesty, integrity and efficient administration of its veteran leader and the Chief Minister Manik Sirkar, when the CPI(M) recorded its fifth consecutive victory in the assembly elections with him around.
