In order to press and steer the movement to get the demand fulfilled, a people’s convention was held last month at Srimanta Sankardev Sishu Udyan, demanding proposed Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge to be constructed as road cum Rail Bridge. A survey was being conducted for only Road Bridge by a Japanese Construction Company which is nearing completion.

Addressing the convention, Tura MP of Garo Hills district Conrad K. Sangma, while supporting the demand of road cum rail bridge said that it was a dream project of his father late P.A.Sangma who could not translate his dream into reality in his life time.
