Of course being a native of the state, pride was natural at the feat but doubt was also instinctive. However I decided to drop my questioning attitude allowing myself to celebrate with a promise to do a reality check very soon.

This much-awaited investigation happened recently on 5th May when I went there to do a story on the life in a fishing village. Ferry is the only mode of transportation that connects the main land to Karang. Contrary to my expectation the payment for the boat-race which cost Rs 10/- was done in cash.
