KK Rocks Tura
The concert, held at MP stadium in Tura attracted an audience of about 5000 strong. It may be noted that this was the first concert of this magnitude to be held in Tura and holding it only reestablishes Meghalaya as one of the premiere destinations for music enthusiasts. The reasonable pricing of tickets for the show also helped in pulling in a huge crowd.
The versatile singer KK had shot into fame with a number of popular songs, which include many hits like Dosti, Pal, Kehta Rahe, Mujhe kuch kehana Hai, Awarapan, Fanah, Beete Lamhein, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Om Shanti Om, Dhoom, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Gangster, Woh Lamhein, Dhoom 2, besides, several others.
The concert started with Rough Road and Sunday Star, two local bands who opened for KK. During this concert, KK sang about 20 of his greatest hits and if the sound of his voice through a 60000 watt sound system was not enough, a 45000 watts laser and lighting effect added to the ambience of the whole show. Speaking to the media KK said, “I have been fortunate to have lent my voice to all the best people in the film industry.” He also expressed concern on the menace of piracy plaguing the industry and stated, “It is a global phenomenon but should be morally binding on the people not to buy duplicates.” Originality prevails in terms of quality,” he added.
