Mizoram, An Island of Peace

One of the youngest states of the Indian Union, Mizoram has experienced 21 years of peace and progress. An island of Peace, Mizoram had signed the most successful peace accord in our country back in 1986 and has remained the most peaceful state since then. This accord, which confers statehood to Mizoram, has the distinction of being the most lasting and successful Peace Accord in the history of Independent India. The two decade long disturbance made Mizoram a late starter on the path of development. Twenty one years of peace and the enormous efforts of the state government have now kick started a chain reaction in development. Today, Mizoram is reaping the fruits of peace and developmental activities in all spheres are happening in leaps and bounds.
