The institute was established a decade ago. The opening marked the culmination of an extended effort by M.G Charitable Trust, whose managing trustees are Mr. S. M Venkatpathi and Mrs. Ramadevi Venkatpathi. They are strong believers in sharing what one has gained and that community benefits multiply when social responsibility is shared.

The EPGI platform of learning has plenty to offer, ranging from primary school to post graduate programs in engineering, health sciences, basic sciences and management. The East Point Engineering College has focused on developing premier educational capital. With undergraduate, M – Tech and Business management Programmes to offer, the East Point Engineering College is accredited by the N.B.A (National Board of Accreditation.), V.T.U, AICTE and Govt of Karnataka. Under the guidance of Principal Dr. S. G. Gopal Krishna, the institution constantly strives for excellence.

Resource Centre of Books and Faculty

EPGI is located on seventy five acres of verdant land. The infrastructure is of top class with no compromises on quality. Each department has its own well appointed seminar hall with premium audio and visual equipment to facilitate lectures and co – curricular activities. The library which is extensive has a system through which students can borrow a set of text books relevant for a semester. The technical library has over twenty six thousand volumes related to all branches of science. There is a digital library and broadband internet lab which provides text image and other online collections to scholars and students.

First Engineering College For Women

The idea behind the Engineering College for Women is to make women realise their dreams. The courses are carefully tailored for women which include BE in Electronics and Communications, Computer Science and Administration. Here students are also encouraged to diversify into the civil services like the Indian Administrative Services and so on. The college is now flourishing under the guidance of Director KNV Rao.
