Cadre. Among other posts that he held, Governor Gurbachan Jagat was the Director General of BSF from December 2000 to June 2002 and DG, Jammu & Kashmir from February 1997 to December 2000. He also headed the intelligence/security apparatus as DIG (1982 – 1990). Governor Gurbachan Jagat also held the post of Chairman UPSC from April 2006 to June 2007 and was a member UPSC from August 2002 to March 2006.
