After a short nap to recuperate,  you might consider a brief sojourn at Shillong’s premiere shopping mall, which lies waiting just across the road. Having done with your day’s shopping and working up a healthy appetite, you can now make your way back, make a short pit stop at your room to drop off your newly acquired possessions, and walk up to the hotel’s restaurant on the top floor. A word of caution, get ready for your taste buds to get a feel of what food should taste like. The cuisine here is a slice of heaven, something which makes your trip to Shillong even more worth your while. The food here can only be compared to ‘ambrosia’. You can now make your way back to your room and consider planning the next day. It might strike you that you don’t know much about the city and that you don’t have a guide at hand. Help in waiting by way of the internet enabled computers at the corner of the room. If you still can’t decide, you can always call up the front desk and let them take care of it as one of the services provided by the hotel is guided tours.
This is a lifestyle that one can definitely settle into but then, sooner or later, you do have to leave. In doing so, you might be apprehensive of the trouble of finding transport to the airport and such. Once again, the hotel comes to the rescue. A short call to the front desk again and Viola! everything is booked and ready. (Did I mention that the hotel also arranges transport to and from the airport?)
As you pack your bags and get ready to leave, don’t be surprised if something holds you back, something which says that you have found you home away from home.
