13th Junior National Sepaktakraw Championships

Nagaland recently hosted the 13th Junior National Sepaktakraw Championship at the Indira Gandhi Stadium. A total of twenty states and 350 participants took part in the four day championships.

The Sepaktakraw Federation of India also announced that Guwahati would host the national championships- Assam to host senior, Trivendrum, Kerala to host junior and Chenai, Tamil Nadu to host sub junior national championships in 2010.

India is expected to play host to an international Sepaktakraw championship next year; this was revealed by Dr R.S. Dagar, President Sepaktakraw Federation of India.

An amazing fact is that even though the sport is relatively new in the country, players from three North East states namely Assam, Manipur and Nagaland play very important roles in the Indian team while playing aboard.
