AIRTEL’S CHILDRENS DAY CELEBRATIONS WITH 30000 CHILDREN IN NORTH EAST

Bharti Airtel, India’s leading mobile services provider organised a day long programme on November 14 to mark Children’s Day 2009. On this day Airtel organised an event for children across the North East Region, in both urban & rural areas, to participate in a drawing contests that will showcase their talent.

On this Children’s Day, Airtel reached out simultaneously to all the children across the North Eastern Region in more than 500 locations. On the Spot Drawing Competitions, on the theme of environment – ‘Clean North East, Green North East’ were organized in a grand manner simultaneously in all the seven states of the North East.

The programmes encouraged children of Airtel Employees, Airtel Customers, channel partners, vendors & more importantly the less privileged children in our society to take part in the competitions. It may be specially mentioned that more than 30000 children – under privileged and children living in far flung areas, living in various shelters & institutions have been encouraged to take part in the Airtel On the Spot Drawing Competition across the region which were held in more than 600 schools simultaneously.

Through this programme we want to bring about awareness in our future generation on the need for preservation of our environment. Our plan is to showcase the talent of these children through various activities – an art exhibition, Airtel’s New Year Calendar & New Year Cards. “

It may be mentioned here that Airtel had last year successfully organised Sit –and-Draw competitions across the region and is for the second year in succession, organising a grand Children’s Day. Last year the theme was peace, this year it is environment protection.
