33rd NATIONAL GAMES

The 33rd National Games held at Gauhati in February 2007 happens to be the biggest event of the North East. In spite of numerous threats from the ULFA, the games were hailed as “The Biggest Spectacle On Earth” with 9000 participants in various events. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi along with many other dignitaries took part in the opening ceremony and the event successfully showcased the cultures and traditions of the North East.
