The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), a public sector undertaking has created history by presenting a demand draft of Rs. 225 crore as an advance, calculated at the rate of Rs. 5 per MW to the government of Arunachal Pradesh.
NHPC Chairman cum Managing Director, Shri SK Garg informed that the Corporation will invest Rs. 27,000 crores in Arunachal Pradesh over the next ten years for the development of Mega Hydro Projects. The Corporation also revised the memorandum of agreement for the development of three more projects with the total capacity of 4500 MW. Of the three projects, 3000 MW Dibang Hydel Project will be the biggest in India when it is completed in 2016.
