Airtel launched a special service of bridging the gap between Donor and Receiver through the SMS platform . Those in need of blood can send an SMS BLOOD message (140 characters with blood type, name and city mentioned) to 55200. Recipients send their requests via SMS in the prescribed format to 55200 and the message goes immediately to the recipient informing about the receipt of the request. Received requests as per format shall be broadcast to the specific location customer base, who will then directly get in touch with the recipient.
