letter to the editor
Dear Editor Sir,
I have just finished reading the March 2008 issue of your esteemed magazine, Eastern Panaroma. The contents were reader friendly and full of information.
I appreciate Prof. Tandon’s efforts towards producing “Quality Students”. He has emphasized not only on awarding a “mere degree” to the candidates but making them Globally Competent. Students are being encouraged to take up new cources in booming areas such as bio-technology, Information Technology etc, which will fetch them great careers and the opportunity to excel. His idea of making the education centers of Northeast into 24 hour academic premises like that of the IIMs or any other premier institute in the Metros should surely bring about a vast difference in the outlook and development of the students and enable them to compete at par with the rest of the country.
Its is also true that Northeast is abundant in natural resources with high potential towards development but very little has been done in this regard. If progressive people like Prof Tandon take the initiative, a lot can be done and in no time Northeast will emerge as one of the most developed areas of the country.
Thank You for such a wholesome read.
