Chief Minister’s Special Programmes
Dharmajyoti: Fifty per cent concession to pilgrims of the State every year for visiting prominent religious places in the State and beyond. 72,360 pilgrims have been covered so far. The target for the current year is 25,000 pilgrims with an allocation of 1 crore.
Chief Minister’s Power Assurance Programme: Under this programme, a total of 882 new transformers have been installed in all the 126 constituencies and the replacement of 4,168 damaged transformers to the tune of Rs. 38 crore. 1,008 new transformers to be installed at the cost of Rs. 12 crore during 2008 – 09.
Chief Minister’s Self Help Tourism Scheme: 20 per cent project cost as margin money assistance to 32 groups comprising 128 educated unemployed youths for setting up tourism projects.

Mukhyomantrir Asom Bikash Yojana: 2178 conventional drinking water sources in the form of ring well and tube well has been installed in remote rural areas at an estimated cost of Rs. 3 crore in 2007 – 08. Under this scheme, umbrellas will be provided to 76,923 students of LP schools at a cost of Rs 1 crore and bicycles to 1,00,215 girl students of classes VIII to IX at a
Mukhyomantrir Jivanjyoti Swaniyojan Yojana: 5,475 youths given financial assistance with 1,757 loan proposals sanctioned amounting to Rs. 55.12 crore. 775 educated unemployed youths sent outside the State for apprenticeship training.
Mukhyomantrir Seujidhara Achoni: A massive plantation programme in forest and non – forest areas of the State. 21.5 lakh saplings to be planted in 1220 hectare of forest and non – forest areas of the State in 2008 – 09. 15,000 saplings to be planted in and around Guwahati. 30,000 saplings to be planted along 17 – km stretch of road in each district.
Mukhyomantrir Jibanjyoti Bima Achoni:
A comprehensive insurance scheme covering both health and accident care. So far, 11,464 cases disposed of amounting to Rs. 21.28 crore.
