Latin America shows investment interest in Arunachal Pradesh
Lauding Arunachal Pradesh’s floriculture potential, Equador’s ambassador in India Carlos Abad said the state should import technology to improve its flower products and sell them both in the domestic market and the rest of Asia.
Addressing senior beurocrats, political leaders and members of Arunachal Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and entrepreneurs recently, Abad said, “Arunachal, with its vast deposits of natural resources and hydro power potential, could take a cue from Equador which earns US $ 650 million every year by exporting flowers.
He urged the locals to preserve the environment while taking up industrialisation and to avoid the fate of Equador where the environment had fallen prey to speedy industrialisation.
Ambassadors of Latin America – Milena Ramirez (Venezuela), Genaro Vincente Pappalardo (Paraguay) and Abad – accompanied by Lok Sabha Member from Arunachal Prdesh Kiren Rijiju, reached Itanagar recently to study the prospect of investment by the respective countries in the state.
Ramirez informed that India – Latin America Political Forum was created three years ago to bridge the gap and improve the knowledge about Latin America in India and vice – versa.
