Prof. G. D. Sharma awarded

Prof. G. D. Sharma, a renowned scientist of International repute has been awarded by Prestigious Fellowship Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of Mycorrhizae given by Indian Mycological Society second biggest society in Asia on 3rd December, 2009 in the gracious presence of great scientists and scholars from all over India such as Prof. S. R. Samddar, President of Indian Mycological Society, Kalyani University, Nadia District of West Bengal, Prof. N. SamajPati, (Secretary), Calcutta University, Kolkata and Prof. A. K. Manna, Bardwan University, Bardwan. On this occasion Prof. Sharma also delivered a thought provoking lecture on “Recent Researches in Mycorrhizae and Application of Microbes in Increasing the Productivity of Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture and Human Welfare”. Prof. Sharma has attended a numbers of  National and International Conferences as well as Seminars and also chaired technical sessions. He has visited many countries and also contributed more than 170 research papers in outstanding foreign journals of his respective field. He is an author of many books of National and International repute and Chief Editor of International Assam University Journal of Science and Technology. Presently he is Pro-Vice Chancellor of Assam University before holding the position he was Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Kohima.
