KVIC holds workshop on PMEGP

KVIC recently organised a state level workshop on the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) at Don Bosco Youth Centre in Shillong. The programme was graced by a host of dignitaries which included Mr. Arindom Som, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary of Industries, Govt. of Meghalaya who was the Chief Guest, Mrs. Medha Parnaik, President, AWWA, Mr. R. K. Borkottoki, A.G.M, SBI, Shillong, Mr. C. Noronha, Director, Bethany Society and Father Cylien, Don Bosco Youth Centre.
The programme was aimed at informing the youth of the self employment opportunities which are available through PMEGP.
Besides numerous powerpoint presentations which illustrated the opportunities for self employment, the programme also included an interactive session where the State Director, KVIC, Shillong, Chief Executive Officer, Meghalaya Khadi Board and General Manager, East khasi Hills, Directorate of Industries and Mr. K. R. Simliye, Lead Bank answered the numerous querries fielded by those in attendance.
