As polygamy, abuse and child marriage are big issues in a state like Arunachal Pradesh, married women in the state were never before considered to be part of the glamorous and ever-changing world. They were always cramped to household parameters with barriers put between them and free indulgence with the outside world. But with the rapidly changing scenario in the state, the people accepted the role played by married women in the development of society and up gradation of one’s family. Married women all over Arunachal Pradesh are just as beautiful as those who are not married and are dying to show off their beauty as well as their skills. That is why there was a beauty competition that was created just for them by RIM creation under the patronage of an NGO called Arunachal Pradesh Women Voluntary Organization Itanagar under the slogan ‘Let us join together to fight against Cancer’.
