NCP leader shot in Manipur

It was at around 7 pm of April 25 when the Vice-President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Manipur unit T Chungsei Haokip (60), while with a friend at a hotel near his New Checkon residence in Manipur’s Imphal East district, was shot at by assailants. Haokip was hit on the chest, while his friend, Haokhai Lupheng suffered injuries to his right calf. The assailants, taking advantage of the ensuing panic were able to make a quick escape after the incident.

Without delay Chungsei Haokip’s family rushed him to the district’s JN Hospital at Porompat but to their dismay, the doctors declared him brought dead.
