Thuingaleng Muivah’s proposed visit to Somdal

When the Union Home Ministry announced that the NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah was given permission to visit his native village at Somdal under Manipur’s Ukhrul district, the news spread like a wildfire. Soon, there was confusion, mix-reactions, emotions, jubilation, etc in the minds of people living in both Manipur and Nagaland.
Till the Government of Manipur took a decision to bar Muivah from entering Manipur on May 2, things were, somehow, relatively peaceful and not many adverse reactions were present from any quarters.
