The price of petrol in this Northeastern state which is reeling under a severe petroleum product crisis due to prolonged highway blockade coupled with the current unrest arising out of National Socialist Council Nagalim (Isaac-Muivah) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah’s proposed trip to the state, has soared to Rs 120 to 150 per litre, and that too, if available.
An advertisement of Videocon house, published in the leading local newspapers of Imphal which promises a coupon for 10 litres of petrol with every colour TV bought only sums up the situation.
