Rajendra Chamaria bags UDYOG RATTAN Award
Mr. Rajendra Chamaria, the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of CMCL (Star Cement) has been conferred with the prestigious ‘UDYOG RATTAN Award’ by Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi in a glittering ceremony held at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The award was presented by His Excellency Mr. Shekhar Dutt, Honourable Governor of Chhattisgarh, His Excellency Mr. Devanand Konwar, Honourable Governor of Bihar and Mr. K.P.S. Gill, Former D.G.P., Punjab. CMCL was also conferred with the Excellence Award in the same Ceremony.
This award is for his sincere endeavors and prolonged dedication towards the success of the Cement Industry in the North East. Also, this award is a true recognition of Mr. Chamaria’s success and his relentless efforts in successfully establishing industry in the most industrially backward areas of the country like Banderdewa (Arunachal Pradesh), Badarpur (Assam), Lumshnong (Meghalaya) and Shamgarh (Madhya Pradesh)
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chamaria said, “It is indeed a rare honour to receive the award and the certificate of excellence from the Institute of Economic Studies which is one of the premier research oriented and awareness promoting institutions in the country. The award belongs to all those who have been instrumental in making Star Cement a success story.”
Cement Manufacturing Company Ltd. (Star Cement) presently manufactures 1 million tones of cement per annum. It is presently undergoing a massive expansion plan and by the year 2011 will be producing 4 million tones per annum.
