Organises Awareness Camps

The ‘One Day Awareness Camp on Handmade Paper and Fibre Industry’ was recently held at Bethany Society’s Marian Centre for appropriate Technology (MCAT) at Tebrongre in Rongram Block of West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya recently. A total of 55 enemployed youth and prospective entrepreneurs took part in this event. This programme was presided over by the State Director of KVIC, Shillong along with two of his officers namely Mr. Gaikward and Mr. Nath. Extention Officer Mrs. Momin from Khadi Board Office, Tura and the Administrator Bethany Society were also present and took part in the deliberations. Mr. Wanok and Mr. Rupsor Hajong were the resource persons for Hand Made Paper and Fibre industry respectively.
A skill development programme was also helkd as part of this programme. The State Director KVIC, Mr. GFaikward and Mr. Nath and BDO, IFAD Mrs. Reena graced the event on the opening day of this skill development programme. On this same day, tool kits were also distributed to candidates selected by the Board.
In related news, the State Office, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Oakland, Shillong organized One Day Awareness Camp on Agro Based Food Processing Industry recently at Don Bosco Technical School, Laitmukhrah, Shillong.
This programme was inaugurated by Father Benny, Principal, Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong in the presence of Shri S.B. Mane, State Director, State Office, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Shillong, Shri Ranga Rao, Asstt. Director, MSME, Shillong & Shri S.B. Bose, Supdt., KVIC, Shillong.
This Awareness programme was attended by 100 participants. Shri S.B.Mane, State Director, KVIC, gave a special speech on ABFPI & PMEGP Scheme. Shri S.L.Gaikwad, Dev. Officer, KVIC, Shillong gave the vote of thanks.
