You Cover Story ‘A tale of two Icons’ highlights a glaring phenomenon in the country today. Why did Irom Sharmila not evoke the response that Anna Hazare did? It is not because she is from a remote region nor is it because of some difference in caste colour creed. It is because the news was not as profitable as that of Anna Hazare simply because of the reach. Coverage for Sharmila was not given by the national media thereby undermining and negating the public pressure which could have been built on the central arena as was done in the case of Anna Hazare.

The action taken by the respective governments in the case of Pawan Hans is too little too late. Pawan Hans should be totally banned from flying in Indian air space.
