Fitness Test. Aya ram Gaya ram, the piece by Mr. Raghunath was hilarious as well as thought provoking. It also states in some manner not only the attitude of the writer but also maybe how our elected representatives are no longer the role models they used to be.

The Hand Does Not Beckon. If the Union Home Minister is really serious to see the return of the Brus to their villages then he must fist convince his own ministry in Mizoram to make sure it happens. Otherwise its all talk and no action.

Are We Really Educated? When a person is killed we burn 500 houses and we consider ourselves educated. How is that? What I had learnt from your cover story astounds me. And then Mizoram is supposed to have the highest literacy rate in the country.

Silver Jubilee Completed. Yes Arunachal Pradesh has completed 25 years of statehood. But now what we need to do is set a target for the next 25 years with the goal of becomming one of the most prosperous and advanced states of India.

What went wrong? The NEIP 1997 could attract an investment of just Rs 1000 crore in north east india whereas Uttrakhand in a span of 3 years after the policy was extended to the state in 2002 managed to attract investment to the tune of Rs 2000 Crore. It is time for the north east to introspect why the big investors are still shying away from the region.

Is India a country where women are safe? India is a land where women have been respected from time immemorial. Then why is it that the respect fro women is diminishing in this country? Why has a case such as the one mentioned by your writer Basudev Mahapatra in his article arisen? Atrocities against women were not being registered by the police. Why did the politicians take a dig at the ruling party when instead they should have asked for the neck of non - performing police personnel who had refused to register the FIR and do their duty. That would have certainly given the politicians more mileage.

Festival Arunachal. The recent celebration of the 25th Statehood Day of Arunachal Pradesh was a testimony of the cultural wealth of the state. After reading your article covering this event last month, I could not help drawing a comparison between the event and the famed Hornbill Festival of Nagaland. The vibraant show of Arunachal Pradesh’s culture is an indication that something can be done along the lines of the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland in Arunachal Pradesh. It is widely known that Arunachal Pradesh is also blessed with mindblowing scenery and this can be an added boon when trying to lure tourists. The presence of the Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony at the momentous occasion was also very significant considering China’s designs on the state. In this regard, promoting tourism will usher in more exposure to the state resulting in faster development. This development is a crying need of the state and policy makers should take note that promotion of tourism will invariably bring about this development. Arunachal Pradesh is touted as an unexplored paradise. It seems rather silly that both the state and central government are not making the best out of what God has granted the state... unmatched beauty and a rich collection of cultural diversity.
