President Pratibha Patil also presented the Padma Shri Award to Nameirakpam Ibemni Devi of Manipur at New Delhi. Other Padma Shri awardees from the north east region of India included Sunil Janah of Assam, Binny Yanga of Arunachal Pradesh, Kedar Gurung of Sikkim and Dr. Ralte L. Thanmawia of Mizoram.
