Yogasana Therapy for Lungs Cancer
Major symptoms of the disease

- In routine blood examination – Hb may be found to decrease, while TLC may increase, ESR may be higher from the optimum range and DLC polymorphs may be found increased

- Sputum test is must to diagnose.
- At present CT Scan helps to diagnose it
- Fine needle aspiration biopsy examination is also necessary to confirm the existence of the disease
- Sometimes Bronchoscopy is done to detect the preserve of cancer cell in the Bronchi.

But the patient can fight against it and become successful by doing yogasana and pranayamas under the proper guidance of a qualified and expert yoga guru. Herbal application and dietary suppliments
- One glass of fresh wheatgrass juice should be taken by the patient once in a day before the sunset.
- One clove of raw garlic should be taken every day with breakfast daily.
- One cup of Basak-leaf juice mixed with two teaspoonful of honey should be taken in the morning before breakfast.
- At least 10/12 green leaves of Tulsi (black) should be chewed after mid-day meal daily.
- Indian Amla fruit’s juice should also be taken in the afternoon.
- 25 grams of grape fruit (ripe) should be taken at 10 to 11 A.M. and again 3 to 4 P.M. daily. Please note grape juice found in containers in the market should be avoided always.
- Decocted water of “Arjun” bark mixed with ½ teaspoonful of honey should also be taken during daytime.
Causes of lungs cancer
- The remarkable cause of lungs cancer is faulty food habit and bad life style. It has been said that when a smoker smokes 20 cigarettes a day then he absorbs about 150 gms of smoke tar in a year which causes serious damage in the lungs. So smoking is being considered to be main factor.
- (1) Nicotine, (2) carbon monoxide gas, and smoke tar are very injurious agents in the case.
- Harmful dust and coal burning smoke and untreated lungs infection can also invite the disease.
- Deposition of Carcinogen in the blood due to faulty food habit as well as smoking
- When physical immunity fails to protect the body.
Yogasana Therapy
Now-a-days it has been observed and established that yogasana and pranayama can save a cancer patient. Let us discuss here under about the asanas and pranayamas to be practiced daily in this case:
The patient should get up from bed as early as he can in the morning and drink two glasses of lukewarm water mixed with two teaspoonful of honey and four spoonful of lemon juice, in empty stomach before he starts Kriyas
Sarbangasana
This shoulder standing posture should be done very carefully to avoid cervical pain. Duration should not be less than five minutes. If he cannot stay at a time he is allowed to break it (one minute x five times) = 5 times, but not more than that.
Mathsyasana
This asana is perfectly done in Padnasana based. Otherwise if it is done in cross legs sitting symptom the result is 10% only. The wrong posture can invite spine troubles.
Suptabajrasana
This is recommended for the person who is unable to do Mathsyasana. Timings of this asana is only three minutes (1 minute x 3 times)
Ustrasana
This is a boon to the Lungs Cancer patient and it can be done with deep breathing. Although it is a “Kumbhak” based Kriya, the lungs cancer patient should not try it with Kumbhak system. Timings – 30 seconds x 5 times.
Urdhamukh Sabanasana
The patient can do it with normal breathing for 10 seconds x 3 times. But if he gets any discomfort with the neck he should avoid it. Instead he can do the following asanas:
(a) Bijyan Mudra
(b) Abijyan Mudra with pillows. Timings for both the kriyas one minute x three times.
Bhujangasana
while doing this kriya the patient should avoid Kumbhak. 45 sec x 3 times. This asana should be followed by:
Salabhasana
10 sec x 3 times only. He should not accept excessive pressure on his chest
Ardha Chakrasana
15 seconds x 3 times only.
Pranayamas
The patient must do pran kriyas like:
- Shiva pranayama no 7, which is otherwise known as Anuloom Bhiloom for 5 minutes.
- Suryavada: for 3 minutes
- Shiva pranayama No. (a) and (b) total 6 minutes
- Western breathing No 1, 2, 3: each for three minutes only.
- Bhraman Pranayama: for minimum 15 minutes once in the morning and again in the evening. The patient should do it in smoke and dust free place.
Mudra: Aswini Mudra – for one minute
Dhouti: Sahaj Agnisar Dhouti – 45 times only
Progressive Asanas:
After ¾ months practice when the patient will start to gain results and feel much better. then he should progressive asanas with proper direction of a yoga guru.
- Dhanurasana: 30 sec x 3 times
- Chakrasana 30 sec x 3 times
- Ardha Mathsyendrasana 10 sec x 3 times
- If possible (a) Mayurasana and (b) Uddyan Bandha Mudra
- Sahaj Bhastria
- Footh Kari
- Smriti saktibikash kriya – one minute each
To be successful in Yogasana treatment three ‘P-s’ are required i.e.
(a) Patience
(b) Perseverance and
(c) Practice.
Life style and food habit of a person is of great importance, so the patient must be particular in this respect.
A.Early to rise and early to bed is essential; otherwise the time of asana practice will not be proper. The patient should cultivate the habit of living a stress less life by doing correct meditation.
B.Food habit
(1) What not to eat. First of all he must give up smoking habit forever. So any kind of tobacco product in any form must be avoided. Drinking of wine even in party should be avoided. Non-vegetarian items like fish, meat and eggs should not be eaten. If not all, eggs should be deleted forever from the food list.
(2) What to eat freely: all kinds of leafy vegetables, fruits, nuts, rice and roti, milk and milk products and sufficient drinking of lukewarm water.
