All Freedom Fighters are sons and daughters of the soil with one mission FREEDOM. These sons and daughters can not be distinguished into different strata of society irrespective of their caste, creed and religion. Their religion is the same from Kashmir to Kanya Kumari, ‘Service to motherland’. By forgetting their sacrifice and not giving them their share of respect we show our lackluster attitude towards our own birthright of freedom that we have taken for granted. When we respect God for showing us the path to righteous living, how can we abandon the memories of God’s children who made the ultimate sacrifice for our today?
A simple example is our knowledge of the great Bhagat Singh. His daring deeds shook the very advanced British Empire. He left his religious identity for the one identity, the Great Nation of India.However his distant brothers and sisters like Kiang Nongbah, Haipu Jadong, Ropuiliani, Taji Mideren and even living legends like Santi Pada Roy or Subash Chandra Paul are all of the same kin.
We have compiled a list of a few of the freedom fighters from the region and we pay our tribute to those unsung heroes of the Great Indian Freedom Movement. Jai Hind.
