New Initiative on Bodo Unity
After turbulent years of Bodo fratricidal clashes, new rays of hope shine now following rival groups of the Bodos initiating talks to sink their differences. Whether the talks will be able to settle their long standing rivalry between the Bodo groups or not is the question, the answer of which lies in the womb of future.
Several rounds of informal talks between the Bodo leaders of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) and the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) just concluded. Whatever the result of talks, the Bodo leaders at least now have realized the power of unity.
Mr. Rebgang Brahma, the Chairman of PDF, and Mr. Urkhw Gwora Brahma, the ABSU chief, met for the first time to sink their differences. Mr. Premsing Brahma, who was believed to be close to the Bodo Liberation Tiger Force (BLTF), has discussed with one of the PDF MLAs, Mr. Mohini Mohan Brahma, to chalk out a common movement. . . . . . . . .
