Orchid Smuggling Blooms in Assam
Like all the Northeastern states of India, the state of Assam too had always been known for its greenery. From 
hills to rivers, from mountains to lush green valleys, the state has it all. Various species of wild animals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, etc and numerous species of trees had always reflected the green atmosphere in the state. The rain forest patch which stretches from Upper Assam to Arunachal Pradesh had always been an attraction for nature lovers, tourists and researchers. However, as in the case of many other states and nations, Assam too is losing its greenery as well as its rich and unique flora and fauna due to massive illegal felling of trees and poaching of wild animals.
