AGP-BJP alliance turns sour
The electoral alliance between the Asom Gana Parishad and Bharatiya Janata Party has visibly turned sour. If the President of the national party had emerged as being responsible for the development, the decision making body of AGP had only added to the differences. Now it is only a few steps away from the final decision of both the parties officially breaking the electoral alliance in Assam. The change of mind for the BJP was reflected in the recent visit of its National President Nitin Gadkari to Assam. In his maiden visit to the North East, Mr. Gadkari not only criticized the main opposition party of Assam, AGP but also dropped enough hints which suggested that, if needed, the saffron party would fight alone in the forthcoming Assam Assembly elections which are due next year.
