Money and Men become biggest challenge for opposition in Tripura poll
“Mamata Banerjee never provided any funding to Tripura unit, which was one of the reasons of six MLAs to leave the party. They run the party and held rallies and program with their own resources. Not a single rupee ‘Didi’ spent for the state, also she left it to the local leaders to manage resources,” said a Trinamool congress leader who did not want to be identified.
He further stated that Mamata Banerjee and her leaders are not at all serious about Tripura. Even when Sudip Roy Barman and others had hit the CPI-M’s traditional base in the state, they did not spend anything. After the entry of six Trinamool Congress MLAs and getting the blessing of the most vibrant Congress MLA Ratan Lal Nath, BJP appears to be the strongest political force in the plains while tribal based antileft Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Tripura (IPFT) become unparallel in the hills of Tripura.
