Well done, IAF!

Ever since India lost 30 of its Jawans at Pulwama, there was a hue and cry in the country. The people of India wanted a befitting reply to Pakistan. Rightly, Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India has given a befitting reply in just 21 minutes, killing 350 or so terrorists by entering into the territory of Pakistan.

In the early hours of 26th February 2019, India struck the biggest training camp of JeM in Balakot in which more than 350 terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and group of Jihadis were eliminated by Indian Airforce. The operation which consisted of 12 Mirage 2000 jets was carried around 3:30 AM. The jets dropped 1000 kg laser-guided bombs on terror camps across the LoC, completely destroying them. Jaishe-Mohammad (JeM) control rooms were also destroyed in the strikes. It took 19 minutes to complete the operation.

The people of India are celebrating the victory and Mr. Modi who is having a tough image has proved that he is indeed an Iron Man of India. The Surgical strike was a beginning, but operation by IAF is not an end. Pakistan is Notorious, where the government is weak and unable to control the militant activities. In contrast, India is economically better and the fabric of democracy is much stronger than Pakistan. It is the political diplomacy of Mr. Narendra Modi that today, the whole of the world is with India and Pakistan has been isolated. The sooner Pakistan understands that it is in his own interest that they should curve terrorism and stop funding them.

We congratulate IAF for their excellent performance as the operation has clearly indicated the poor preparedness of Pakistan Airforce which could not trace the operation of IAF through their Radars. We also salute our IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who showed the strength of Indian soldiers across the Line of Control, who despite the duress situation, used his presence of mind and came out gracefully. He had made not even the nation proud but compelled the whole world to praise him and the bravery of our soldiers. But, despite the peace gesture from the PM of Pakistan, the conflict is still on across the LOC. Our soldiers are still giving the befitting reply.

Till then, we all have to wait and watch. Sometimes for long term gain, we have to sacrifice in short terms. When the issue of a nation’s sovereignty and integrity comes, the entire nation has come together, except the few traitors, who are making it a political agenda, questioning the martyrdom.

Dr. K. K. Jhunjhunwala
