The world we live in right now is as uncertain as it has always been. Yet this year has given us a first-hand experience of how fickle this universe can be. You either adapt to the changing times or you stay stuck and lose everything. You keep on fighting others to survive. One more fight that everyone must take part in is the fight within. The fight between who we think we should be and who we are. But no one talks about this fight; everyone is focused only on surviving that they forget that our existence is for flourishing and not just surviving.

Flourishing means to live at an optimal level of human functioning. It means that we find meaningful work, which gives us fulfillment in our lives. We can connect to people around us at a deeper level. To flourish is to live a good life filled with happiness which is composed of three major elements- positive emotions, engagement, and meaning according to Dr. Seligman, author of Authentic Happiness. This sounds good but the path is not easy. Growth is never linear; you feel like you are on the right track one day and on the other completely lost.

We have to put a stop to the domino effect of terrible beauty across the world. Humankind is engaged in a fierce battle, the battle of survival. A new brush is needed to paint green the nightmarish apocalyptic landscape of the world.

The pandemic lockdown has become a valuable coefficient of understanding of our life at close quarters on this planet which has also led to revisualising a partly hallucinatory cum contradictory vision of the human life in the coming future.

“The road to a final deal has become ticklish as the sensitive issue of Naga flag and Yehzabo,” that’s the Naga constitution, “remains as the sticking point. We have stood our ground on these two non-negotiable issues and we shall continue to stand till the last man standing. NSCN shall be failing before God and before the Naga people if we stumble at this most decisive moment of our history.”

This statement of the Isak Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah group of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim, NSCN (IM), released on 3rd October 2020 has split the beans that the 23-year old peace talks taking place between NSCN (IM) and the Government of India through an interlocutor is in trouble waters and its currently at the point of collapse. According to NSCN (IM) Chief Negotiator, Th. Muivah, “the Nagas will never be part of the Indian Union nor will they accept India’s constitution”.
